MY PERSONAL STYLE

My personal style is to look natural and elegant at the same time. I am a person who believes that beauty comes from within. Hence I do not depend on a lot of cosmetics and heavy clothing items to look the best version of myself. I think just having a healthy mind and body will be enough to bring out the best in us. Even though I am a part of the modern and ever changing era of fashion, I prefer comfort over style. And hence I may not always be a part of the “Current fashion trends”. I am a South Indian girl and I love dressing up in the traditional attires. This includes a Saree too. Yes! A Saree for sure. This 6 yard elegant piece of fabric makes me look beautiful than ever. Depending on my mood, I dress it up with some heavy Jhumkhas and chockers. Adding the big round Bindi is a whole game changer for me. And for the final touches I round of my look with some Kajal in my eyes. And that’s all. My pretty inner self in on display. I do hear a lot of my friends complain when they have to wear sarees but I look out for opportunities to dress up in a saree. I am also very comfortable in one and can easily stay in a saree for hours. It may cause me that extra time and effort but nothing can stop me from stepping into one.

When it comes to traditional clothing I don’t always stick to sarees because I don’t always have the time to slip into one. During these times I choose options that are much easier to wear and require just half the efforts. These styles include a long Anarkali, a simple salwar set or just pairing up a simple kurta with a dressy Sharara pants or a Pallazo. These styles are much easier to work with and can be styled well too. These are the constant few styles that I pick for any occasion and I am usually comfortable in.

I am comfortable in western outfits that are conservative. I enjoy dressing up for casual meet ups with my friends or family. I lean towards the more classic styles such a denims, dresses,Jumpsuits and shirts. I do not experiment too much since I am very comfortable in my own choices. I also believe that wearing the classics can never go wrong because they are always in style. I am not too daring when it comes to dressing up in western outfits. Sticking to basics makes me feel confident and hence I do. Also when it comes to wearing western clothes I tend to keep it a little simple. I do not accessorise too much. I just wear a nice earning and a watch .

I really like the idea of mixing the Indian fashion trends with the western culture. It can never go out of style and is also extremely comfortable to wear. This fusion also satisfies both the traditional aspect and the western aspect of dressing up. I often tend to mix and match and play with my styles a little. I wear my simple kurtas with a nice denim jean or wear dresses that have the Indian colours and prints in them. I think every girl should try this once in a while.

I usually prefer wearing light and bright colours. Since I am already very tall I do not prefer wearing heels. I am comfortable in my flats. I also do not like wearing any makeup. For me makeup is just Kajal, Eyeliner and Mascara. I am just a simple 18 year old who is comfortable in her own style and skin. I am not insecure when I am not in par with the current trends. I am here to tell all of you that you should all be comfortable in what you wear and carry it off with a lot of confidence and a big beautiful smile.

Thank you and lots of love to you all J.
